GOOD SAMARITAN: Unto Dust #1

Boston, Massachusetts - 1965: Father Bill Sullivan is a Roman Catholic priest with a secret – he wields awesome energies that he believes are given him by God. The "Power of the Holy Spirit" manifests around him as nebulous tentacles of purple and gold energy and smoke. It allows "Good Samaritan" – as he calls himself – to hover, grab criminals and restrain them, subject thugs to the experience of their own crimes in his "Confessional", and occasionally render ultimate judgment by turning perps into dust as he proclaims, "Remember Man that thou art DUST and unto dust thou shall return!"A new menace is tangling with Good Samaritan, a creature preying on children, a molester with delusions of being a vampire. And "normal" life is presenting its own problems, as Ernesto Cabral, the new Cardinal of the Archdiocese, apparently has it in for Father Sullivan! He hassles Sullivan after Father Bill helps a young, unwed mother-to-be. The Cardinal might ruin his career... but the creature could take his life!

Stories by Mike Luoma and Ben Ferrari, Art by Ben Ferrari, Kitae Kim and Vic Moya. Cover Pencils and Inks by Seth Frail, Color Art by Chuck Michael Obach.

"Mike Luoma (writes) hard-biting, hot button-pressing tales. Think Frank Miller’s HOLY TERROR without all of that bat-shit annoying Frank Miller-ness and you’ll get the drift of this one. This book successfully mixes real world issues with superheroism, while remaining respectful to the men and women fighting overseas and pointing a finger at atrocities performed around the world. This is a fun book which empowers women while it entertains and inspires hope." - Ain't It Cool News.

The Gods Return

Panthea Obscura: Deifornication - Graphic Novel
PANTHEA OBSCURA: DEIFORNICATION

The Deep, once known as Poseidon, gathers the gods together. He hopes to persuade the other gods they should make mankind remember them again! Mother is opposed to letting humans remember. She feels mankind needs more time to evolve on its own. And she warns them - if they once again interfere actively with mankind, then The Destroyer, their brother Troy, will be free to do so as well!

Whatever happened to the gods of old? For thousands of years humankind worshiped "gods", actual beings of great power that lived among us. Two thousand years ago the "gods" made humankind forget them, forget that the gods actually existed. Forget they walked among us. Forget they were more than mere myths and legends. Why? The gods had their reasons. Some hoped to see humankind evolve in their absence, hoped to see humans become beings of greater power and abilities. Others kept their reasons to themselves. The gods disappeared into myth, legend and folklore. The "gods", forgotten, disappeared into the human population, kept their powers hidden, kept to themselves. Until the day before yesterday...

Read the comic CBR's Steven Grant says "...reminds me of some of the better independent comics published in the late 70's...".

HOLY SHIT: Or... Pat Robertson Is The Anti-Christ
HOLY SHIT: OR...
PAT ROBERTSON IS THE ANTI-CHRIST

This black and white comic covers the origins and early history of Chrisitanity - and why Pat Robertson is the opposite of what he claims to be - done with humor!

Written, drawn and hand lettered by Mike, this second edition of Mike's first comic has digitally added shading and gray scale backgrounds to help the illustrations flow better, creating an overall easier to read book while preserving the feel of the original edition. There's a new introduction, and the print version of the Second Edition also includes the original essay that inspired the comic, "God Is Love, Pat Robertson Is The Anti-Christ, And Almost Everything You Know About Christianity Is Wrong", as well as a full bibliography of source material.

Troy Brownfield of NEWSARAMA - "...a damn fine example of what 'independent comic' really means. The fact that it's entertaining, informative and occasionally gut-bustingly funny is all icing... ...definitely has bite. It might not be to everyone's taste, but it's definitely thought-provoking, and that's something we can always use in comics."

J. Caleb Mozzocco of the Las Vegas Weekly - “Calling to mind Chick Tracts in its rough, sketchy art and preachy, folksy, occasionally funny tone, Luoma's Holy Shit is a pretty compelling read...

Steven Grant of Comic Book Resources - "...a surprisingly respectful (to Christ, anyway) dissertation on how Christianity got twisted throughout history from the original teachings to the inane blather of televangelists like Robertson. It briskly covers a range of topics... And he backs up his argument; it's not simply a screed. The art's iffy at best but the book's pretty impressive."
